I've always enjoyed painting, a talent I inherited from my grandmother who was a fabulous painter. I grew up learning acrylics, but took two oil painting courses in college. I love painting realistic paintings and getting into the accuracy of tiny details. I hope to continue this passion throughout my life.
Before I called myself an artist, I would have called myself a crafter. I see 3D art merely as an extension of that hobby. Creating something physical and tangible gives me a lot of satisfaction. Furniture and jewelry are two things that are both useful and beautiful. These photos are from my college courses in furniture and jewelry design.
I have recently begun to explore the world of stationery design. Invitations and stationery were not typical design assignments in school, but as I've begun to see, they have just as much potential to be striking and beautiful as a poster or a typeface. Discovering Minted, a customizable stationery site, is what peeked my interest in this area. They sell customizable designs created by extremely talented designers. These are some of my favorite entries to their competitions.
